This policy describes the data Convertola processes to convert images and receive messages. It matches the current behavior of the service.
Who operates the service
Convertola is operated as a website utility. This policy does not invent a company address. Use the contact page to reach the operator.
Images you convert
When you convert an image, the file is uploaded and processed on the server. It is decoded, rotated to its visible orientation, and re-encoded. Embedded metadata, including location, is removed unless you choose to preserve it. JPEG, PNG, and WebP can keep that data; GIF, BMP, and ICO cannot; TIFF keeps XMP only. The result is stored under a random name so you can download it.
The download link is unguessable and is not listed publicly. Anyone who has the link can download the file until it expires. Files are deleted after 15 minutes. Image contents, file names, and links are not sent to analytics.
Choosing to preserve metadata keeps the location and other fields the output format can store. Convertola does not run a separate antivirus product, and it does not execute uploaded files.
Audio and video you convert to MP3
The MP3 converter turns audio or video you already have into MP3 in your browser. That file is not uploaded to Convertola. The page does download the FFmpeg converter engine, which does not include your file. The finished MP3 stays in the browser until you download it or leave the page.
Contact messages
The contact form stores your name, email address, message, and the language of the page. Messages are kept for 30 days and then deleted. They are used to read and respond to your request. Do not include passwords or images.
Technical data
The server keeps an in-memory count of recent conversions and contact submissions for each network address so it can apply rate limits. Those counts are not written into the contact records.
The host may also keep ordinary request logs, which can include an IP address, the time, and the URL path. Those logs are not used for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
The default configuration does not set analytics or advertising cookies, and no cookie notice is shown for that reason.
If the operator enables the optional analytics integration, the site can load Plausible. That integration is designed without cookies. It can receive event names and coarse details such as the selected output format. It is not given file contents, file names, contact details, or download links.
Sharing
Images and contact messages are not sold. The hosting provider processes them as needed to run the server. Optional analytics, when enabled, is a separate recipient limited to the events described above.
Security
The production site is intended to be served over HTTPS. Uploads are limited by type, size, and dimensions. Temporary files are stored outside the public site files and removed when they expire.
Children
Convertola is not directed at children, and it does not knowingly collect their personal information.
Your requests
You can ask about a contact message through the contact page. Include the email address you used. Images are deleted on the retention schedule, and an expired file cannot be recovered from the service.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated date on this page will change with the service behavior.
