About these terms
This website is operated by Convertola. Contact: hello@convertola.com. By using Convertola, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
Convertola provides free tools without an account:
- Image converter: converts JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, TIFF, BMP and ICO images up to 10 MB on our server. Results are available for 15 minutes.
- Background remover: removes image backgrounds in your browser, up to 10 MB.
- MP3 converter: converts video and audio files to MP3 in your browser, up to 150 MB per file.
Usage limits apply per network address: 8 image conversions per minute, 40 per hour and 5 contact messages per hour. We may change these limits.
Your files
You keep all rights to your files and results. You grant us only the permission needed to process an image on our server and store the result for 15 minutes. Files used in the in-browser tools never reach us.
Acceptable use
Only convert files you own or have permission to use. You must not:
- infringe copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
- circumvent DRM or other technical protection measures
- convert content taken from YouTube, streaming services or other websites in breach of their terms or the law. Convertola does not download from links.
- upload illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities
- upload malware, or probe or disrupt our systems
- send automated or bulk requests, or circumvent the usage limits
- access other users' files
- resell or offer Convertola as your own service without written permission
We may block requests, restrict access or delete files that violate these terms.

To report infringement, follow the Copyright policy.
Results
Conversion can change a file. Lossy formats and automatic background removal can reduce quality. Check each result and keep your original files, because we do not keep copies.
Availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, suspend or discontinue any feature at any time.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
Indemnity
You are responsible, to the extent the law allows, for losses and reasonable costs resulting from your breach of these terms or the law.
Open-source software
Convertola uses open-source software, including FFmpeg and ffmpeg.wasm, IMG.LY Background Removal, ONNX Runtime, sharp and libvips, Next.js and React. Each component is used under its own license.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Convertola is established. This does not remove any mandatory consumer protections you have under the laws of your country of residence. Before taking legal action, contact hello@convertola.com.
Changes
We may update these terms. The new version applies from its "Last updated" date. If any provision is invalid, the rest remains in effect.
